Maxi Priest tipped for this year’s jazz safari

Untitled-1

Through the annual Nile Gold Jazz Safari, Uganda has hosted some of the best artistes in the world. The likes of Kirk Franklin, Keith Sweat, Joe, Kirk Whalum, Karyn White, Regina Belle, among others have all performed in the Pearl of Africa but looks like the ninth edition of the safari will have a recycle, with Maxi Priest set to return for the second time to perform at the event.
One may wonder why Tshaka Mayanja and his team would make a decision like this but the move, we are told comes as they are rebranding the name from ‘Nile Gold Jazz Safari’ to ‘Nile Gold Jazz and Soul Safari’.
However, the Briton will not be performing alone, as jazz players Jackiem Joyner and Lin ‘Soul-Trumpeter’ Rountree will also be entertaining the crowd as well.
Born Max Alfred Elliott in 1961, Maxi Priest, is a British reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent famed for songs such as Dancing Mood, Throw My Corn, , Wild World, Woman In You Just A Little Longer and Close To You, among others.
