Following a tight competition that gathered 640 entries into the KFM radio presenter talent search, Phillip Akugizibwe, aka Selecta Phila emerged winner after beating 19 other selected competitors.

The unveiling was done at Club Play, Industrial area last Friday and Monitor Publications’ Managing Director, Anthony Glencross handed over the winner’s certificate to Akugizibwe, a third year student of architecture at Makerere University.
The talent search, which lasted two months, looked for originality, uniqueness, energy and potential in the new presenter. “The show will run every Saturday from 10am to 12pm and will be exclusive and unveil the latest Ugandan music and superstars,” Ben Mwine who was the competition coordinator said.
Dembe interacts with listeners

Later that evening from 8pm to 11pm, KFM sister station Dembe FM also aired one of its weekly shows Eki Love Love live in the audience at Club Big Zone in Nansana. The show, which discusses relationship matters, also gave chance to the audience to have their questions answered and also interact with the show presenters.
In the same spirit, earlier on Saturday morning, Dembe FM also aired its weekend show, Talk and Talk live in the audience at Bat Valley Theatre from 10am to 12.30pm. This time round, Talk and Talk discussed the state of TV in Uganda by highlighting the pros and cons of different television entertainment shows and their presenters. “The beauty of this show is that people are told the truth and the wrong they do. It helps artistes understand what they should do right,” Robert Sekidde, aka Tuff B who was the guest of the day said.
On Saturday late evening till late night, KFM radio also held its monthly KFM night at Knight Riders Discotheque in Entebbe to mingle with its Entebbe fans. Dembe and KFM are sister radio stations to Daily Monitor newspaper.
