KFM talent search hits 700 entries, Zuku TV on board

A few weeks after its inception, the KFM Super Star talent search has attracted an overwhelming number of entries.
Running under the tagline ‘Olina Ekitone?’ the highly anticipated competition, has received entries from hopefuls in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and South Africa.
According to sources at KFM, more than 700 entries were received by management by the weekend.
The source, however, told us that the list had to be whittled down to the top 20 voices who will visit the KFM studios later today.
Among the top 20 contestants, who will get their first chance to go on air today, is former Big Brother Africa representative Esther Akankwasa and Brenda Nantongo, a runner-up in the Airtel Trace music star competition. The list also includes fresh graduates and previous unknowns.
KFM listeners stand a chance to choose who they want to be the next KFM superstar over the next four weeks by voting online, by SMS, and on- air.
The winner will get their own show on KFM, while all the top 20 contestants will get free training from top radio experts in the KFM radio academy. This will give them the skills they need to enable them pursue their radio dreams.
Last, but not least, the competition has also attracted sponsorship from Zuku TV, although the KFM team were tightlipped about details of the sponsorship.
