Jaq Deweyi’s Song gets nod at Europe’s Biggest Festival

Jaq Deweyi’s debut song “Oukawamunabi” has been nominated for “My Music MasterPeace” – Europe’s biggest Peace Festival four years after its release.

My Music MasterPeace is designed for all solo artists, bands, and singers with music that tackles topics of peace-building, positivity, freedom of expression and human rights globally; offering support and exposure to fresh artists who need to break through into music charts and gain widespread outreach for their message.

MasterPeace believes in the transformative power of music to influence social change, music has the power to cross borders, break taboos and bring people together.

All nominations, including Jaq’s Oukawamunabi have now been subjected to a global vote that will see 25 artistes win a chance to perform at this noble festival. Voting is now open and to vote for Oukawamunabi by Jaq Deweyi, follow this link;
MasterPeace, the organizers of the festival, through a YouTube lyric video fell in love with the message in this song and that’s how they got in touch with the Radio Presenter and artiste, Jaq Deweyi. “Oukawamunabi” means hope in Lumasaba.

Through the same engagement, MasterPeace global asked Jaq to start MasterPeace Uganda.
MasterPeace is an award-winning global grassroots non-profit and non-governmental peace movement, currently existing in more than 40 countries around the world.

MasterPeace was launched in 2011, with the aim to mobilize people around the world to use their talent and energy for peace building and togetherness. Through music, sports, arts and dialogue, MasterPeace will help lead the way to a more sustainable world with less (armed) conflict.

MasterPeace focuses on actively engaging people around the world in peace-building actions.
In Uganda, MasterPeace launched recently making Jaq Deweyi their Club leader and CEMCOD (Center For Media Literacy and Community Development), their Legal Umbrella organization.
MasterPeace Uganda will for the first time participate in the celebrations of The International Day of Peace with a series of activities, including “Walls Of Connection” – Esterblishing the biggest mural in history, and street performances among other activities to mark the day on September 21, 2016.
