Fun Factory’s Simon Base Kalema to make comeback in the music industry

You probably do not remember Christmas Day of 1994. If you do, then you probably remember the Dungeon Concert Tour, headlined by Simon Base Kalema (SBK) at Lugogo Indoor Stadium. SBK was one of the biggest artistes of that era. That concert was the best concert of the year with beer going for Shs1,000.

SBK, aka Symon, quit music about 20 years ago and decided to focus on acting – with the Ebonies and lately Fun Factory. He now says he is back to his first love – music and this is not an act.

According to his managers, he aims to bring back the good music that has been buried in years of history.

For starters, Kalema was a member of the singing group known as Perfect Generations. He was in the music industry with people that shook Uganda’s music industry in the 1990s and early 2000s, among these were Peter Sematimba, RS Elvis, Rasta Rob, Ragga Dee and Roger Mugisha. He recorded songs like Mukwano Muzibu, Singa Teyali Gwe and Kakokolo among others.
