Former Miss Uganda passes on

former-miss-uganda

News we have just received is that former Miss Uganda, Charlotte Ssali, has passed on. Ssali was at Mulago hospital where she has been battling with a disease that we are yet to establish when she passed on earlier today.

An official statement from the doctors hasn’t been passed on and the family has not said anything yet about the tragic news.

Ssali, who was a daughter to the famous Dr Ssali (RIP) of Mulago hospital was crowned Miss Uganda in 1972.

After her reign, she moved from job to job until she landed one with UTV, now UBC where she worked as a programme announcer for years. It is said that her sense of style and accent played a big part in earning her the job which she worked at from 1972 to 1990.

Charlotte Ssali joins other UBC legends like Bbale Francis and Andrew Patrick Luwandaga who have departed this world.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
