DSTV’s TLC African presenter search is on

TLC Entertainment (DStv channel 172) is looking for their next great presenter. The channel’s campaign to find its first Afican presenter will kick off on Sunday August 9.
“All one needs to do to be part of the search is belief that they have what it takes to be the next Buddy, Oprah or Randy and they shall stand a chance to be crowned TLC’s Next Great Presenter,” said Multichoice Africa publicist Tina Wamala.
The continental search, which was announced earlier this week, will see the lucky winner present the TLC Top 10 – a brand new series coming to TLC later this year.
According to TLC’s Lee Hobbs, the show will be dedicated to celebrating the most popular shows that have been on the channel since it launched in Africa in 2011.
“We know how vocal our TLC fans are and I’m certain we’ll get a tremendous response when the competition officially opens on August 9. We look forward to receiving the entries,” Hobbs said.
The search will begin with viewers submitting video clips of their presenting skills, explaining why they should be chosen. A panel of experts will then whittle down a shortlist, but it will be up to the TLC viewers to choose the lucky winner.
The details on how to enter TLC’s Next Great Presenter competition will be announced closer to the launch date next week.
