Douglas quits Record TV

After so many years of devoted service, Record TV Katogo show host Douglas Lwanga threw in the towel this week. Katogo had become Douglas’s middle name and the reserved presenter had managed to get the seven-year old show, also his brainchild, from scratch to a national level. According to critics and recent Steadman findings, Katogo was the most watched show on Record TV!

However, Douglas took us and the public by surprise when he announced that he had quit the station. During a telephone conversation, Douglas revealed “internal fights by his bosses” forced him to quit a station he so loved.
“Although most people saw me when Katogo became popular. I want the world to know I started with Record TV when it was even still broadcasting in Portuguese. I was the longest serving employee by the time I quit!” Douglas told us in a rather angry tone.
He went on to reveal that he decided to throw in the towel after his bosses started a show with the same name as his to run on Sundays with a different presenter.

Katogo is a live entertainment show that involves hosting artistes of all sorts to chat with their fans about music, plans and current issues. Before quitting, Douglas had succeeded on hosting several top artistes from Uganda and almost every international artiste that has visited the country. We wish you all the best Douglas, we hope to see you on our TV screens on another station any time soon!
