Molly Blick and Navio

At 84, Molly Blick still managed to attend celebrations to mark 20 years of Crown Beverages Ltd, the makers of Pepsi-Cola and other Mirinda products in which her daughter Dr Maggie Kigozi (Navio’s mum) is one of the three major shareholders.

Dressed in a black dress, Molly who sat with her grandchildren throughout the function even managed to raise her hand and waved when rapper Navio (one of her grandsons) was performing at the event.

But unfortunately, Molly didn’t manage to make it back home on Monday night! She collapsed as her and other VIP guests relocated from Victoria Hall to the Pearl of Africa Restaurant, and passed away.

Although she was known to raise sportsmen as her sons and grandsons are renowned sportsmen in different sports, Navio who chose a different career path – music, told us his grandma was his number one fan! “She inspired me a lot! She always told me I was different and great. She wasn’t just my grandma, she was my best friend. I’m a glad I was with her till the end. She was surrounded by family and friends; the best way to go! RIP Molly Blick,”

Navio said. Navio was also thankful to God that he let him entertain his grandma shortly before he took her! “I dedicate Monday night’s performance to her (Molly Blick)! Many people that attended the Monday event couldn’t believe that Molly had passed on as she walked and looked energetic.
Our heartfelt condolences! R.I.P Molly Blick.
