Hustler : Joseph Mwima

Previously a renowned music producer at Swangz Avenue, Joseph Mwima popularly  known as Just Jose, decided to start up his own music label called Supanova Music Group.

What is Supanova all about?
Supanova is an artiste and talent management label that deals with a number of things including artistes’ bookings, management, promotions, guidance and so much more.

Why did you decide to start up a label?
Being in entertainment for a longtime, I needed something fresh and new, but revolving around artistes, so I decided to start up a label to see how it goes.

So does that mean you no longer do music production?
I still do production here and there. I have upcoming producers I tutor about production and a song from my artistes can’t be released without me adding a touch to it.

Which artistes are under Supanova?
So far I have two. Nutty Neithan and Ang3llina.
Why those two?
I’m a person who looks at talent, hard work and precision. Both my artistes know what they want and believe in it. They are quite talented and together we can take it to another level.

Where did you get the experience of artiste management?
My career has always been about artistes. I worked at Swangz Avenue, which is a record label that deals and signs artistes all the time. I was also part of Goodlyfe and Keko’s management team previously, so I believe I have all it takes to manage artistes and with my connections, everything will work out.

When did you start up S9upanova?
I started it two to three years back, but it was underground before that.

What challenges are you facing owning a music label?
Music in Uganda is so competitive and expensive.

How can one get in contact with you?
We are on all social media platforms. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Just search for  Supanova Music Group. You can’t fail to find us.
