What are your charges to emcee at a function?
I charge Shs600,000 and above depending on the magnitude of the show or function.

What are some of the challenges as an emcee?
We are under paid yet it is us who run shows, concerts and functions. We are not recognised the way we are supposed to.

What are the benefits?
I’ve made a lot of connections. I’ve got public sympathy because of my face value. When established, emceeing is one of the most paying jobs in the entertainment industry.

How much do you bag in a good and bad season?
In a good season, I can bag around Shs5m and Shs300,000 in a bad season.

What does it take to be a good emcee?
Confidence, connection with the audience, experience and knowing what to say, when to say it, how to say it and who to say it to.

Any concerts you’ve covered?
I was the emcee at Akon’s show in 2006, Wycliffe Jean in 2007, and the official host at Chameleon’s Badilisha concerts among others.
