Fashion tip :Connie Nankya

When a man gets to 40, they cannot afford to go with the trends lest they appear like they are in a mid-life crisis. Here is how to keep stylish when advancing in age.

Fashion has mainly been streamlined for the youth at the expense of adults. This, especially in the men’s world, has had a good number of them left with no choice but to either forget about style or embrace trends that may not match with who they are. However, with the tips below, 40 can indeed be the new 30 hence a chance to fall in love with oneself, despite the age.

Embrace style and not fashion: As one grows older, they should look at maintaining the classic yet simple and traditional composure. At this point, donning labels regardless of how they are on the body can be left to the youngsters. For example, traditional jackets, scarves and cool shirts are timeless items that work well with all ages if worn correctly so keeping it elegant, timeless and mature in any of the above can play the trick.

Luxury is important: Essential basics like trousers in linen, cotton, jumpers, and cardigans should be given a luxurious update. Remember growing older does not call for utter deterioration as far as style is concerned so a switch to rich materials can be very ideal. Having a couple of these items in soft colours can ensure versatility to match up a range of outfits while adding a touch of youth.

Add flair with accessories: Even though splashing some colour may not be a bad idea, bolder and brighter colours can only make one seem older than they are. Instead, one can use accessories to apply colour for vibrant appearance.

These can include, scarves, socks, pocket squares and ties, among others. Such pieces can give attention to detail hence an impeccably dressed gentleman.

Finally for the laid back dos: T-shirts and jeans are acceptable however one ought to update them too. The T-shirts for example should fit well while the jeans ought to be slim and in raw denim. Also having the right footwear is always a bonus. In a nutshell, with simplicity comes a fresh and stylish you!
