I love the Tebakusobola jam, it’s deadly man! What the story behind it?
Thanks, Tebakusobola means they don’t match you. I wrote it after some guy threw me into jail because of a misunderstanding he had with AK47. It was meant to prove to them that they can’t bruise or break me. It’s not an individual that makes a star number one, it’s the fans. They prove to you that no one is bigger.

Considering you are from Leone Island, does the Good Life crew like your new song?
They enjoy it. It was played when we were both at Club Amnesia sometime back and they danced to it. I hadn’t gone there with them, no. It was a total coincidence that we met there. They are brothers. Weasal treats me like his young blood. The accusations in tabloids are all false … I hear I stole Weasal’s chain … can I even do that?

When did you join Leone Island?
I grew up on Entebbe Road and Chameleone used to frequent my streets because his home is in Ssegukku on Entebbe Road, so I became close to him. It was 2005 and I was 13 or 14. He even welcomed me to his home like his own son. However, he didn’t teach me to sing, he taught me the art of making good music and the love for music which I had had since I was just a kid.

Did you continue with school?
You see certain things depend on one’s goal in life. Well I didn’t continue with school because the knowledge I had wasn’t for school. I came into this world to make money and business not to study.

Do you have a new track?
Yes papa, it’s called Love Me. It’s an urban tune I recorded with Hannz Tactiq. Trust me it will be bigger than Tebakusobola. I haven’t released it yet because I want to do so after making the video, but I perform it during shows and people love it. Hannz has a peculiar style and taste of beats that will suite both ragga and hip hop so everything that comes from his studio is good.

Musicians have several other names, but why do you call yourself War Child?
I use War Child because I have hustled a lot, and with God I know I won’t be a one hit wonder. The lord is doing amazing things for me. Tebansobola, just you wait and see.
