Former Obsessions’ Jackie headlines Masquerade party

The second edition of the Gold Masquerade Fashion Party is on this Thursday at Club Play, formerly known as T1Club. The night’s main highlight will be Herman Kawuma of ‘Herman Closet’, one of Uganda’s promising fashion designers.

His outfits will be showcased on the catwalk. He has exhibited them in Germany and would like make a breakthrough back home too. Also headlining will be Jackie Tusiime, a former dancer and singer with Obsessions.

She will launch her line, showcasing her creative side through designs that range from modern gomesi traditional wear and other creative wear. Both headliners are new and so will be the models adorning their outfits.

The fashion party is about celebration of designers as they showcase their works. Guests are given a masquerade mask on arrival as a way of making the event catchier.

Organizer Simon Ssempuya, who is also director of Sketch Agency, explains that the models have undergone training. The first edition of the Gold Masquerade Fashion Party took place in September last year at Laftaz Comedy Lounge where designers Lameck Collections, GNaj Label, Fashion Accent, Rhowz Collection, Pintos Boutique and LMS Fashionstaz showcased.

Performances at this year’s event include Jackie O, Leila Kayondo and Becky 256. Deejay Urbanstar will be on the wheels of steel to entertain revellers. It will be a red carpet event. Dress code is gold And black. Entrance to the ordinary section is Shs20, 000 and Shs50, 000 to the VIP section. Tables are available at Shs250, 0000. Showtime is 8pm.
