LUTALO

LUTALO

A tabloid once wrote that David Lutalo was a one-hit wonder, with nothing to show for it after Kapapala. That’s the evidence you needed to believe that some writers are smoking something poisonously potent. Because you see, Lutalo is a musician of truly remarkable talent, and, that this talent has continued to manifest itself in numerous equally good songs.

Of course, we must note that Lutalo will not be everybody’s cup of tea, especially if to you, the only music worth listening to is what you watch on MTV Base. If you can’t stand the music done by say, Haruna Mubiru, if you are one of those snobbish self-conceited brats, you can as well wait for the next review.

Lutalo is one of the few male musicians on the market whose strong point is that he has a nice voice. This guy does not need auto tune to get his music groove in line. And the quality of his voice is not undone by the mundane monotony that undoes Chris Evans.

Lutalo backs up his songs with conviction and emotion in his voice, making it look like the love he is singing about is affecting him in real life. You will not miss the grounding effect of the bass guitar in his sound, again, a common feature in his songs. He sings about how love has sent him soaring in the skies. His voice soars too, making him a joy to listen to.
