The music video: Ndiwabulijjo – Benezeri Ft Pryce Teeba, Santana & Reazy

hh-v

Give a Frenchman this video to watch and he will proclaim right away; “C’est tres ordinaire.” For that’s what this video is; it’s ordinary, and it doesn’t hide that fact in any way. This candid display of being ordinary is what gets me even more intrigued to watch it, rewatch it and try to answer the question of “why.”

Turns out the video production house behind this video is named; “clumsy film.” That explains everything.
I think the artistic background does the video some fair justice. It is only at those points when they keep changing locations from this background that the video begins to crack away with flaws. Alternatively, it could be that the video wanted to portray the actual message in the audio-simplicity. If that is the case, then it is a very raw representation of simplicity.

But guess what, there is that funny character; the man himself a.k.a Santana. A mere look at him will get your ribs breaking into pieces. He is laughter himself. Then Benezeri comes in on a boda boda with this chick who keeps drawing comparisons with her friend’s lifestyle. You will enjoy that scene as she shows him those photos of the ‘other couple.’ All men have been there, it is not a position to be in.

Santana crowns the video with his part, rolls it out in a bar scene, and just like that, the video comes to an end. Not much hullabaloo. Just another rap video. So then the questions begin; how far are we willing to stretch ourselves as far as videos are concerned? Is this a matter of life and death or videos are just another of those things to accompany a song? These are questions the music industry should strive to answer, and arrive at consensus. One thing for sure, this video is as basic as they can get.
