The music video : Ekitone – Desire Luzinda

With over 10,000 Youtube views a few days after it was released, the Ekitone video may be the next Ugandan inspirational anthem. The video shot at Orange City (read Kampala Casino) of Nalukolongo features Desire Luzinda performing with the hopes of seducing this Nigerian man in the club by showing him some of her golden gifts and talents.
The Nigerian man who was busy smoking away at his Cigar doesn’t notice Desire Luzinda until the very end when he’s exiting the Casino. He turns his eyes, only to see the goddess of the Nile Basin who draws him to herself magnetically. Not that a complicated story-line yet with very deep meaning. What are those golden gifts that enable Desire to steal this Nigerian man from the arms of his two lovely escorts? The video leaves those talents and inner gifts to our imagination, yet Desire’s body seems to drop a hint or two about the talents.
This is not a very impressive video, even the few credits it scores; it simply does score them because of its subject. The lighting is very poor, it fails to regulate the darkness, and the smoke effect is amateurishly used. The choice of costumes is for those Karaoke singers and queen dancers. Perhaps that’s the position from which Desire is able to seduce this Nigerian man in this video.
And the storyline of all things, other than using imagery to tell girls that stealing guys is worth calling a talent, I literally see no new talent that Desire Luzinda shows off in this video. The video would have been more addictive if it showed Desire on a plane landing in Nigeria and being welcome by her fans in that country. The video should have had a Nigerian factor somewhere; it was shot in the aftermath of the leaked nudes.
