For the The Twilight Saga franchise fans, the wait is over, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is here. It is the last of the five installments in the series. This movie has been very popular. In fact this part had grossed over US$800m (approximately Shs2.2trillion) in its sixth week of release, making it 36th highest-grossing film of all time, the fifth highest-grossing film of 2012 and the highest-grossing film of the Twilight series.

In this sequel, Bella wakes up to realise she has transformed from a human being to a vampire. She has also acquired powers she is not only keenly aware of, but changes within her body as well. She has given birth too, to a child, called Renesmee. Her father has been trying to get her treated ever since she reported illness and he attempts to contact the Cullens for updates on her illness. They intend to tell him she didn’t survive, which requires that they move out of Forks, Washington to protect their identities.

Jacob, desperate not to lose Renesmee, tells Charlie that his daughter is in fact alive and well, and transforms into a werewolf before Charlie to demonstrate that Bella has had to change in order to survive.

The special effects were a two-year effort and the Tippett Studio first began working on the CGI (computer-generated imagery) wolves in February 2009 for particularly The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The artistes have worked, evolving the creatures to become more real over the course of the saga, with the input of three directors.

The film has received mixed reviews, but they were more favourable than part one, with majority of praise from both fans and critics who gave the thumbs up for the ending sequence, of Michael Sheen’s performance as the Volturi leader Aro and Lee Pace’s performance as vampire Garrett.
