Hodulops closed, Jonah finally back to the sitting lumu, it sure does feel good to make it to 2019. The last year was strange. It had its peak moments and its terrible lows. 2018 picked you up so high and so as you got excited, it dropped you like a bad memory. Always in motion, horribly fast then slow. Confusing and mixed up like some bu earphones buried in denim trousers. I was in a daze for much of it. For once I finally picked rhythm in the gym. Well not quite, but at least I tried. My baby biceps reacted and grew to something morally acceptable as muscle. I am sure many can relate. The pursuit of a fine body, peak fitness has got to be one of the most mentally grueling things on this earth. If you followed through until the end, you are my spirit animal and I would be glad if you shared your story. For others that pursued their passions, embarked on other challenging paths, one thing I am sure of is that you are alive. That alone is enough to spur you on. Unfortunately, others did not make it for one reason or another. For those that lost their lives, you will forever live in our hearts and may you rest easy.
New year, new me? That has got to be tiring. Will I be less of an idiot with every passing year, chances are that I will not. Surprise! surprise! I honestly do not want. A new me would be a little hard to adjust to. I am not about to keep calm when a mad song drops on the radio or pretend not to laugh at the funny memes when the Bad Blacks are busy making a mess of themselves. I dance, laugh, irritate in equal measure. Being myself is the most satisfying thing in the world. There is just something really satisfying about living life on your own terms that you do not have to explain to anyone about your lifestyle, fashion, dating or career choices. Guys, do you?
Whoever wants to judge can simply go hang. It does not matter if you are selfless and a lowkey NGO in your free time, it will not kill to put yourself first. Pamper yourself, buy yourself something nice from time to time. Take a dip in the pool if you must, travel and see places. Do not be enslaved by jobs or toxic people. It is about being comfortable in your skin enough to look after it and flaunt it.
2019, I intend to ask more questions. Noticed this has been my biggest undoing. Do you ask questions enough or are you afraid to look stupid? I want to look more stupid this year. To learn, learn and learn. My eyes are open. I will certainly knock on more doors and irritate people while at it but that is how it goes. If you have eyes on something, just start. Start and learn on the way. Otherwise, I wish you all a Happy New Year 2019. Be blessed!
