About a week back, Kankwanzi Margaret was an ordinary girl living her life away from the limelight. But that changed after the 22-year-old was crowned as Miss Tourism 2018/19 last night at a glamorous event at Kampala Serena hotel.
She replaced Challa Elma Kapel who held the crown from 2017/18.
Kankwanzi who hails from Kisoro District, in Kigezi region is a third year student pursuing Bachelor Arts in Tourism at Makerere University.
Emily Ayen (21) from Karamoja emerged first runner up. She is a 3rd year student at Kyambogo University, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Reproductive Health.
The second runner up was Laura Lebu (22) from Westnile. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Library & Information Science from Makerere University.
