The death of the retired Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo has without a doubt hurt many a Ugandan. But among the most hurt is singer Martin Nkoyoyo, alias Yoyo.
The singer has posted a message on his social media that has had many fans come out to console him.
“Tata welaba (fare thee well father). For me it is a celebration of your life and legacy. Wumula Mirembe (Rest in peace),” Yoyo posted.
Even though the fallen man of God was an uncle to Yoyo, the latter has fondly referred to him as ‘father’ all his life. Yoyo’s father, Martin Tebaja Nkoyoyo, was a brother to the former Archbishop.
Remmygious Lubega, an events producer commented, “Our heartfelt sympathy to u and family as you said we celebrate the life and gifts God entrenched in this great man forever as Christians we will be humbled for that treasure and may we all see the works of his hands and follow his footsteps to make a difference in the lives of others and bring positive changes in our communities.”
Willismase Mase posted, “So sorry bro it’s a pity but may God strengthen you and your family throughout this tough season RIP Bishop”
Many were shocked that the singer behind love songs like Love Box, Ansana and My Love was a close relative to the fallen former Archbishop.”
