Music, dance and celebration at New Year Masquerade Ball

The first edition of the New Year’s Masquerade Ball offered something different from the conventional New Year celebration experience.

It was set in a secure location, at the Golf Course Hotel poolside where revelers could dance, drink and celebrate the night that saw 2017 tick away, and 2018 ushered in.

Bebe Cool, Navio, The Mith, Hellen Lukoma and Tabu Flo dance crew performed for adoring fans who sung along and took out phones to capture the stage action. The deejay line-up, which included Roja & Slick Stuart, Xyzl, Aludah, RPM & BK and Chapat, had their deserved time during which they turned up the beat and mixed music that got the crowd pulling out some cool dance strokes.

Roja & Slick Stuart had a session during which they played ‘old skool’ music that did not spare your favourite music from hooping to the beautiful old sounds that should have brought with them some memories. The hotel offered some good discounts on their menu items so revellers could enjoy their offerings.

It was a red carpet experience and given the official masquerade dub, party lovers jovially posed for cameras, many wearing masks which were available at the welcome area. There was a semi-booth where they would take complementary photos that were printed and given to them there and then.

At midnight, the beautiful display of fireworks was a marvelling sight as they coloured the skies with different colours.

Radio and television presenter cum emcee, Deedan Muyira, counted the seconds into the new year and rallied the deejays into a music frenzy to get the crowd dancing as they captured the fireworks.

It was a special moment and many revellers hugged, kissed, shook hands and congratulated one another for making it into the new year.

In the house were more celebrities; comedian Salvador (Patrick Idringi), stylist Joram Muzira, actor Roger Mugisha, Aly Alibhai and wife Sylvia Namutebi, Chizzo Lubega and many more.

All were in fine spirits and freely shared pleasantries with fans throughout the night. Even when music performances were done for the night, the deejays kept revellers on their feet till the dying hours of the first night of 2018.
