Two artistes arrested over music producer’s death

Police have arrested two local artistes in connection with the death of a Jinja-based music producer.
Geoffrey Mukisa, commonly known as Kim Vibes, a resident of Budumbuli village in Bugembe Town Council in Jinja District, was assaulted during the wee hours of Tuesday.
Kiira Regional Police Spokesperson, Ms Diana Nandaula said the suspects who are residents of Polota village, allegedly invited the deceased on Monday evening to a meeting to discuss a Shs5 million contract to shoot for them a song video.

However, the duo developed a misunderstanding leading to the suspects to beat up the producer. They reportedly left him with broken legs, arms and skull.
He was taken to Almeca Hospital in Mafubira where he died.

The suspects were detained at Kakira Police Station while Mukisa’s body was taken to Jinja Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem as investigations continue.
Mr Samuel Isabirye, a local artiste commonly known as Pop Kay Omukambwe, eulogized the deceased as a talented music producer who composed songs like Tyamana.
Mukisa’s death comes after renowned Producer Dan Muto aka Danz Kumapeesa passed on months after thugs assaulted him and robbed him in June.
