Rabadaba proves he’s still got it during Blankets and wine

By 8pm, the emcee Deedan announced that Nigerian musician Seyi Shay was coming next to perform. There was some mumbling in the crowd because everyone thought she could actually be the last to perform because she was the headlining artiste during the 17th edition of Blankets and Wine that happened last evening at cricket oval. But at the end of it all, everyone coincided that it was actually the right decision to have Rabadaba as the last artiste who in most cases is the headliner of the event.

The self-proclaimed Luga-ragga king was on point with everything. His stage presence, dress code, performance and music selection was overwhelmingly on point. In fact most people were so surprised that he could actually sing on a live band.

He kept the crowd on their feet with the songs he did, from Bwekiri, Mukyamu, Akokya, Sentema, Ability to his latest body, Nzuuno and Byange among others. He was backed by Qwela band.

Before Rabadaba, Seyi Shay had also put up a decent performance during this Tusker Malt edition with songs such as Irawo, Killing me softly, Pack and go as well as Murda among others.

Earlier on in the day, T.Bro was the first musician on stage and despite the fact that few people saw him, his performance was also on point.

Despite the fact that few people understand his music, Joel Ssebunjo took it upon himself to make a statement and indeed he made one through songs like Yaaye, Empale and Olutaalo lwensi among others.

This edition, however, was not well attended like the previous one. In fact, by 4pm the numbers that were in the oval were three times less than those who had attended the previous editions and this might be attributed to the fact that there were more than three other events around Kampala.
