Rumor has circulated that R. Kelly is the mastermind behind an abusive “cult” that subjects women to sex slavery. Claims made by Buzz Feed assert that R. Kelly is a monster who allegedly brainwashed six women in search of help to boost their musical careers. Reports also claim that R. Kelly housed these women and controlled their everyday lives from when they could shower, eat, use the toilet, how they could dress and when to have sex. The report quoted three unnamed sets of parents who claim to not have seen or spoken to their daughters for months, and that the women had their routines controlled by the singer.
After the claims, the police in Georgia and Illinois conducted welfare checks for one of the women though R. Kelly has strongly denied the allegations. His representative was quoted by TMZ as saying “Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him. Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
