Director General Uganda AIDS Commission, Dr. Christine Ondoa, early this week announced that over 500 girls contract HIV every week. Such alarming figures are the reason why a section of local musicians have partnered with Reach A hand Uganda (RAHU), a youth led organisation to preach against the spread of HIV among the youth.

The campaign was on Wednesday launched  at Kataranga playground at Kansanga parish in Makindye division where artistes preached to youths about the dangers of having unprotected sex and drug abuse. The messages was packaged in their music performances and movies translated by renowned local VJ Junior.

The day started with free HIV counseling and testing, cancer screening and family planning services. The community, majorly youths, was sensitised by health experts in addition to inspirational messages of the musicians. The artistes that have come together for this noble cause include YKee Benda, the farmer hit maker, Natty Nathan, Navio, Geosteady, and Tonix among others.
