Events

MTN Marathon @ Kololo
It is that time of the year again, when MTN joins hands with partners to rally marathon enthusiasts for a noble cause. This year’s theme is ‘Run to improve sanitation in schools’. The marathon will happen on Sunday at the Kololo Independence Grounds, through Kampala city and back to the same venue. Kits are Shs25,000 or Shs23,000 if you pay using MTN Mobile Money. Marathon starts at 6am.

Breakfast Jam at YMCA
The Breakfast Jam 2016 finals are happening tomorrow and on Sunday from 3pm to 9pm at YMCA Wandegeya. Activities that will be showcased include Bboying/Bgirling (breakdance) & popping battles. Rap, dance & beat boxing showcases & performances, free workshops. There will also be educational discussions. Entrance is only 5k each day and free for children aged 10 and below.

Freedom movie premier @ Grand Imperial hotel
If you want to know the reason it scooped six awards in the just concluded Uganda Film Festival Awards, then you have to be at Grand Imperial Hotel tonight for the premier of Freedom movie. Come watch great actors such as Nish Kalema, Rushabiro Raymond, Bobby Tamale and Michael Wawuyo, among others. Entrance is 50k and show kicks off at 6pm.

The Uganda Rwanda Festival @ Uganda Museum
The Uganda Rwanda Festival is aimed to celebrate the Uganda-Rwanda heritage and share it with the community that embraced them. There will be performances from Sheebah, Radio and Weasel and lots of food and drinks. All this is happening this Sunday at Uganda Museum at Shs70,000. Feel free to carry your own drink & mat.

Kampala International Theatre Festival @ Ndere
Over 10 productions will take place at Ndere Cultural Centre where rich and diverse voices from local, national, and international artistes and companies will take the spotlight for this year’s Kampala International Theatre Festival. The five-day event that starts next Wednesday will end on Sunday from 11am to midnight. Entrance is 10k per day, 30k full festival pass and 10k students.

Disco
Afro Indian Riddim @ Cayenne
Something exciting will be happening at Cayenne Bar for Indian fusion fans. Dubbed ‘Indian Afro riddim night’ & “Bollywood Hungama”, the two events will happen tonight and Saturday respectively. To headline the shows will be Bollywood DJs King and Kedar and percussionists from Mumbai India. There will also be a Russian belly dancer while DJs Crisio, Bobby and Phoebeats will spin the discs. Entrance is only 20k.

Camouflage party @ Club Ambiance
The camouflage party is happening tomorrow, tat Club Ambiance in Bukesa where dress code will be army attire, but there will be no restrictions. Performances will be by Roden Y, Ykee Benda and comedians Kapale, Amooti and Kelekele. Entrance is 10 and 20k VIP.

Standup Comedy @ Benrich Lounge
Benrich Lounge presents standup comedy next Tuesday where MC Kapale and Jaja Bruce will crack people’s ribs in a two-hour show starting at 8pm. To access the Kyanja Road-based club, you will need 10k and the show will be hosted by Saymore and Mc Zack.

Saturday dance party @ Moto Moto bar
DJs Slick Stuart and Selector Jose will be the people to watch out tomorrow evening at Moto Moto Lounge in Ggaba for the Saturday dance party theme night. The night will be hosted by Joe Sauti and music will range from local, RnB, Zouk, Hip Hop and others. Entrance is free.

Mun G, Mr Raa and Party Pipo @ Pyramids
Musicians Mun G, Mr Raa and Party Pipo will tonight bring Pyramids down with music for the Light in Club night. They will perform some of their best hits while Party Pipo will dance the night away. Pyramids is opposite KIU and entrance is 5k while tables are 100k.

Comedicine @ National Theatre
If you have a stressful Thursday and home is the last place you want to be, National Theatre is the place to go to for Comedicine featuring Fun Factory actors Hannington Bugingo, Frobisher Lwanga, Richard Tuwangye, Dickson Zizinga and others. Show starts at 8pm and entrance is 15k.

Little Shop of Horrors @ Theatre Labonita
Based on one of the most popular Broadway musicals, the Little Shop of Horrors will show at Theatre Labonita tonight presented by ISU Senior School students. Doors open at 6pm till 9pm. Tickets are available at ISU, The White Rose restaurant and Banana Boat in Kisementi and they go for 10k students and 20k adults.

Serukama Mayute @ Bat Valley Theatre
For two days tomorrow and Sunday, 3pm-7pm, Rams Production presents a stage play titled ‘Serukama Mayute’ at Bat Valley Theatre with mostly new stage actors that have never been seen anywhere. Entrance is 20k per show.
