When information leaked about international music stars Damian Marley and Nas from Jamaica and America respectively broke about performing in Uganda this year, it was news to all because no one saw this coming. Weeks before the Bayimba Festival, the organisers said they were flying in the stars for the festival’s 10th edition next year.
An insider at Bayimba told us that the two artistes were actually supposed to perform at Bayimba in 2014 but they had high demands which the organisers could not afford.
Among the things the artistes asked for were buses to transport their teams while in Kampala, they asked for two floors in any of the five star hotels in Uganda and that they could only perform at a stadium.
The source added that the teams in charge of the artistes were told to review their demands and as it turns out, Damian Marley and Nas will be here in September next year.
